Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the LubriMatic White Lithium Grease

Hey, everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the LubriMatic white lithium grease. This is going to be a 14 ounce tube that will work for your grease guns that have that 14 ounce capacity, which is typically going to be your full size grease guns. Now white lithium grease is going to be great for a lot of different applications. Typically, the most common application for these is going to be on a fifth wheel trailer or a fifth wheel hitch. Since it's going to have that nice white color with zinc additive, it makes it easy to spot and make sure that everything is greased up and lubricated properly.Since it doesn't have any silicone in it, it can be used on plastic components without them being damaged, so you don't have to worry about any damage there.Pop off the cap. You can see inside we'll have that white lithium grease.

It's about the consistency of peanut butter. That's what that NLGI, or National Lubricating Grease Institute number two means. That two designation just means that it's a higher viscosity. Basically means it's just a thicker liquid. Number two is a pretty normal consistency for grease, so that's considered normal. The drop point for this is 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Again, does work with your grease gun, so whenever you put this in place, you'll want to remove the cap, pull the top off and put that in place. Probably want to put the pull that top off after you actually have it into your grease gun. Thread that in place and then you're good to go.If you need to pick up a grease gun, we have a lot of different options available here at etrailer.com. We also have this white lithium grease available in a 16 ounce tub, in a smaller three ounce TUBE for your mini grease guns, as well as in a spray form. So a couple of different options there for your application. That's going to do it for our look at the LubriMatic white lithium grease, 14 ounce cartridge..

  • Grease Maintenance Schedule For Lippert Ground Control 3.0
No, the hall effect motor does not have to be greased, but per the service manual if the jacks are down for an extended period, it is recommended to spray the exposed leveling jack tubes with lubricant every 3 months for protection. If you live in a salty environment it is recommended to spray the rods every month. I spoke to my contact at Lippert and they told me that The White Lithium Grease # L11354 can be used on the gears, but do not over grease them. Using to much grease will start...

  • Troubleshooting B&W Companion Slider No Longer Slides
If the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400 has been sitting for a while or it's just been harder to slide then clean the rails and apply some white lithium grease like part # L11354. If you are still having trouble sliding the hitch locate the 4 Allen head bolts on each side of the carriage (for a total of 8) and loosen the top 2 on each side about 1/4 turn. This will release some of the pressure of the carriage on the rails and will make it easier to move. I confirmed all of this with my...

  • Trouble with Locking Handle Engaging on the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
I spoke to my contact at Curt about your Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16140 and they informed me that the locking handle issue is likely a result of improper lubrication. For starters, I would take some brake parts cleaner and spay down the jaws and the locking handle to ride any debris. Once you have let the jaws and handle mechanism dry then you can take some LubriMatic White Lithium Grease part # L11354 and work it onto these components while moving them back and forth to...

Good news, I can help. • Trouble Removing the B&W Companion Hitch Head
The process you described to remove the head from your B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3500 is correct. The reason you are have having trouble is because of the bushings on the pivot arms. They need to be properly greased each time you remove the head. You can use the LubriMatic White Lithium Grease part # L11354 for this. This should make removing the head much easier though there may still be some rocking involved. Gary, that should all be outlined in the owner's manual for your Reese Patriot hitch. You're also going to want to lubricate the jaw itself, and the skid plate. For the skid place, if you want you can use a Lube Plate, # RP83001, or use automotive grade chassis grease like # L11316. • Troubleshooting Coupling Issues With A Reese Sidewinder Pin Box And Reese 5th Wheel Hitch
There are a few options to help ease your Sidewinder's coupling with your Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30047: 1. Make sure that your trailer is level. This will ensure that the king pin is going in straight. The jaws of a hitch are usually pretty forgiving but can bind up if the king pin is off center too much. 2. You can use a lube plate like # RP83002. This helps the king pin slide into hitch with ease and also helps prevent scratches to the skid plate. 3. Lube the jaws of the...

I am a big advocate of preventative maintenance, a little bit of maintenance can save a lot of time and frustration down the road. So I recommend lubricating the hitch well and making sure that you are in line with the trailer on level ground so unhooking is a little easier. The B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3400 has 4 main points that need to be lubricated. • Where to Lubricate a Reese Pro Series 16K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and what Grease to Use
It does sound like the hitch needs to be lubricated. You can lubricate the moving parts with automotive chassis grease or a white lithium grease such as # L11354. There are also white lithium grease sprays that you could use. After lubricating the hitch you should actuate the handle a few times so the grease gets in the nooks and crannies. You could then use hitch head cover # RP30055 to help keep out moisture and dust/dirt when not using the hitch.

During assembly of the Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR you will need to apply white lithium grease such as # L11354 to the wear plate and the arm tube prior to putting the turret on the arm. The grease should also be applied around the wedge and the king pin prior to towing. This information can be found in the linked instructions as well.

It probably wouldn't be a terrible idea to install the Sidewinder Repair Kit part # RP94316 on your Sidewinder as it sounds like it's seen better days and hasn't been maintained. • B&W Companion Pivot Arm Lube Recommendation
It's possible the hitch was lubricated with a non-Lithium based grease but it's also possible it was, and the grease just looks different due to age. I'd recommend using a Lithium based grease like part # L11354 after cleaning off what you've found so far. I'd be shocked if you had an issue going forward actually, especially as you don't see any wear currently. That said B and W no longer offers us the replacement pivot arms or bushings.
